Growing in the night.
I wake up bigger than when I went to sleep. It’s not been until the last couple weeks where my bump has really become obvious. It’s only been the last week, I have really started to feel movement. I have an anterior placenta, so I have not been able to feel a lot of movement, as the placentas in the way. I had a midwife check up at 26weeks, Then again at 29weeks. Now at 29 weeks I am actually starting to feel, I really am pregnant ahhhhhhhh it’s exciting. At my check up the midwife listened to the heart beat and felt my tummy. “The baby’s head is down” “how do you know” I said. She let me feel and I could feel the different shapes and outline of my baby. Later that night sat watching the TV my belly pops up on one side really hard, I could feel the outline of where my baby was. It’s weird and magical. I always got a little freaked out by pregnant tummys, moving in bazaar ways. When its your own you dont get freaked out. It feels quite big, the baby. How is that in there? Obviously I know…. It’s just starting to sink in.
I’ve been on midwife watch due to no complications and everything running smoothly. I have been left to my own devises. Being my first pregnancy I couldn’t understand at first. No one cares. Other pregnant friends have been consultant lead, getting regular check ups and monitored. Hearing others being regularly checked and your not made me a little panicky. 12 week scan, 20week scan then a check up at 26weeks. I now feel a sense of relief as I’m getting more attention. I think that is why it’s starting to become more real. I actually have regular communication and am getting checked every 3weeks. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy there hasn’t been any problems but when it’s your first pregnancy and you hear of others getting lots of attention, you do start to wonder. Fingers crossed I keep going strong and have a healthy uncomplicated birth.
