There are so many things our peers forget to inform us of, about pregnancy.
To start with the
Bionic sense of smell, (Not good when you come across a bad smell.)
Loss of sex drive,
Unusual bowel movements,
Constant need to wee,
Then when some of theses may fade others kick in.
Producing excess mucous, (Mouth, nose and down below.)
Producing excess Salvia,
Skin pigmentation, (mask of pregnancy.)
Increased sex drive, (No good when sex for you both during pregnancy just isn’t the same, and hard to manoeuvre.)
Increased energy levels, (That doesn’t last very long.)
Being hungry but not having the room for food to fit, as your baby is taking the space.
Constantly forgetting what you’re doing, (baby brain.)
SPD (pelvic girdle pain) the softening of the pelvis causing pain when you sleep, stand and walk. exercise and pregnancy massages have helped ease this.

I have been getting regular massages during my pregnancy by a chiropracture. who is also qualified in pregnancy treatments. I have always benefited from regular massages to ease aches and pains, and adjusting body alignment. Massage has been used for hundreds of years because of its benefical effects on health. Massage during pregnancy, is no different.
The majority of therapists will not treat pregnant women, at a risk of causing harm to baby. Always opt for a therapist that is certified in prenatal massage. Even though you may know a good therapist in this case it is best to acquire information about their qualifications. Its is very unlikely a massage can cause harm, listen to your body and you’ll be safe.
According to the studies regarding pregnancy massage, It is beneficial for pregnant women to receive massages as it can reduce anxiety, it can relieve the pain and aches in the joints and muscles, it decreases depression symptoms and it also helps during labor. Massage during pregnancy addresses different kinds of problems with the help of different kinds of approaches. Like regular massage it reduces muscle tension and it improves the circulation through applying pressure on the muscle nodes.
Massage can make numerous pregnancy symptoms better or even disappear. Usually these discomforts are caused by the pregnancy hormones so it is almost impossible to get rid of them, but it is possible to make them better.
When it comes to massage during pregnancy, Studies show that the hormones associated with stress and relaxation are altered during pregnancy and this is why women have mood swings. According to studies women who received massages, the hormone levels of cortisol and norepinephrine are reduced.
Pregnancy massage can help increase the levels of serotonin and dopamine. If the hormones have the right levels, it is possible to reduce the chances of complications during labor and the babies will be healthier. This is why women should have massage as part of their prenatal care.
Swelling is a common complaint of pregnant women, and this can be addressed as well by massage during pregnancy. This is usually caused by reduced circulation and more pressure on the blood vessels because of the large uterus. Through massage, it is possible to stimulate the soft tissues.
With the help of pregnancy massage, it is possible to reduce water retention in the joints and it also supports the removal of the tissue waste that can be found in the lymph system of the body. This way women can get rid of one of the most annoying symptoms of pregnancy.
Since massage can be so beneficial not just when your pregnant, it would be silly not to treat yourself when you need it most. Just make sure that you are working with a certified therapist.
0401pic1-1Your body during pregnancy is constantly changing shape. The third trimester, from 30 weeks I’m sure I can report my tummy getting bigger as the day goes on. I keep applying the stretch mark oil I made everyday to my tights, bottom, tummy, back and boobs. Fingers crossed it keeps the stretch marks at bay.
It’s important to understand whether you get stretch marks, or not depends on your skins elasticity.
Good water intake, healthy diet and lifestyle and skin moisturisation all help improve ones elasticity. I recommend doing this before while and after pregnancy Not just while being pregnant. A lot of women only moisturise there tummy while pregnant then don’t understand why they get stretch marks. Your tummys already started to grow, breaking down the elasticity. For best results start moisturising early on and never stop. I moisturise everyday then put my stretch mark oil on before bed. I’ve moisturised everyday since I can remember, I always try eating and living a healthy lifestyle and drink a fair amount of water. so in retrospect I shouldn’t get stretch marks, I’ll get back to you on that one.
Out of all the things that come into effect while pregnant, water retention is the only one I haven’t had. Saying that I’ve got 6 weeks to go.
I have remained active throughout my pregnancy attending
Aqua natal classes
Bum tum and leg classes
And walking small steps as my SPD allows.
Taking it down to three classes a week from 32 weeks onward one Aqua, one yoga and one short cardio. I have only gained weight on my bump but I think this is due to not having water retention. Also a large part played with my diet, exercise and using natural skin care and putting no known chemicals in my body.
At my last midwife check they detected high blood sugar. I had crunchy nut corn flakes for breakfast that morning, not something I would usually eat. I had to go to the hospital for blood tests to check for gestinal diabetes. You fast for 12 hours have your blood taken, consume a sugary drink wait 2 hours then have your blood taken again. My advise is don’t eat anything sugary before a midwife check. I haven’t got gestinal diabetes just those damn crunchy nut corn flakes sent me off track. Resulting in a unnecessary visit to the hospital and unnecessary starvation and unnecessary weakness due to starvation.
Like ive said a healthy diet is so important.
Check list for dos in pregnancy.
Its working for me.
